Tierra Peru, Islington, London N1

¡Buenas tardes!

This week's featured article is Tierra Peru, which as its name helpfully informs, is a Peruvian Restaurant in Islington. Reviewers praise the food's flavour and textures, and the portions appear rather generous.

Four new articles have gone up. In the east, we have Familia Cafe, a wee gem of a cafe in Forest Gate which offers up a Spanish breakfast sure to be a hit with garlic lovers. In central London, we have Lao Cafe, a Laotian restaurant in Covent Garden with industrial decor; best to arrive early as it seems to fill up fast. In the south, we have Rocoto Pepper, a Latin American restaurant in New Cross serving perfectly cromulent tea and arepas, along with breakfast choices and a lunch selection that has a vegan option. Just down the road from SE14, Pho Street in Greenwich is a Vietnamese cafe where unsurprisingly, pho and other noodles soups feature heavily.

Updates have been made to:

- Vasanta Bhavan, a totally vegetarian Indian cafe in East Ham
- Compton Arms, a pub near Highbury & Islington Station
- Akari, a Japanese restaurant near Essex Road station
- Parcel Yard, a Fuller's pub inside King's Cross station

Finally, we've two reported closures - China China, a Chinese restaurant in Lewisham and Village East, a bar and restaurant near Tower Bridge

Wine Gallery, Purley, London CR8
Good evening RGL readers! Or should I say good e-vin-ing, as this week's featured article is for the Wine Gallery in Purley. Look out for some 'vine art' on the walls and 'corkingly' good tapas, in 'oeno-rous' portions. Sincere apologies for the low quality of these puns, it's been a long day. Perhaps I need a glass of pun-ot noir?

There are updates for a couple of Young's pubs, the Wheatsheaf in Borough Market and the Windmill on the Common in Clapham. Chai Naasto in Beckenham has also had an update, it sounds like a decent local option for Indian street food with friendly service.

Peruvian restaurant Tito's has moved from its old home near London Bridge station to Stockwell, though if you're still in the mood for spicy prawns there is now a different Peruvian restaurant on the premises. Over in Twickenham, the Rifleman has had more reimaginings than Madonna over the last few years; it's reopened once more under new management.

Finally, two closures to report: Brasserie Vacherin in Croydon, and the PlumTree Cafe in Greenwich.

Curzon Aldgate, Aldgate, E1

Morning RGL crew!

This week's (slightly belated) update sees the Curzon Aldgate cinema, opened this year, as our featured article. Currently at the Curzon Aldgate, humans are at war with the Transformers, and Optimus Prime has vanished. It's up to the unlikely alliance of Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins and Laura Haddock to save the day via a series of expensive-looking explosions.

There's a new article for Long Shot Coffee in Whitechapel, serving coffee, tea, soup and sandwiches. Tito's Peruvian restaurant in London Bridge has had an update after a visit (featuring an insufficient quantity of prawns), as has Le Raj in Epsom (which does a decent veg biryani). The latter also has air-conditioning, so I'm sorely tempted to go there this very instant.

Sabor Peruano, Elephant & Castle, London SE1

Afternoon everyone! This week's featured article is for Sabor Peruano, a small Peruvian restaurant just South of Elephant & Castle. The portions are generous and the ceviche sounds worth a punt (perhaps give the roasted corn kernels a miss though).

New on RGL are articles for Ades Cash and Carry, an African/Caribbean grocery shop in Charlton, Cafe Jasmine, a servicable greasy spoon in Sydenham, and the Essex Roti Hut in Rainham, which looks to be more architecturally durable than the word 'hut' would suggest. But then again, I can't remember the last time I saw a Pizza Hut located in an actual hut? Terminology aside, if you're in Rainham and fancy some Caribbean food, the Essex Roti Hut should do nicely.

There are a few updated pub articles too: the Prince Albert in Woolwich; the Goodman's Field Wetherspoons in Aldgate and the Phoenix in Rainham, just along from the Essex Roti Hut.

As our RGL administrator will be away on HOLIDAY next week, there won't be another update until the week after, so that is of course the reason I've waited until Wednesday to post this update. There is no other reason, and anyone saying I've been LAZY will be Quite Wrong.

Xi'An Restaurant, Deptford, London SE8

This week's featured article is Xi'An Restaurant, SE8 4PQ, a Chinese in Deptford, specialising in the food of the Shaanxi province, but look we've been over this before in a previous update. Some excellent pulled-style pork, and lots of numbing peppercorns.

Three new articles are: Sabor Peruano, a Peruvian restaurant by the Elephant; Vijay's Chawalla, Indian vegetarian in Upton Park; and Bubbles and Tea in sunny Stratford, for all yr E London bubble tea needs.

There's an update to the entry for Prince of Wales pub in South Wimbledon.

Finally we've heard this week of the closure of Cafe Crema in New Cross, and Pizza Lupa takeaway in Bermondsey (now a Firezza).

Thali of the day at Shahee Bhelpoori, Norbury, London SW16

Bit more activity this week. Our feature article is Shahee Bhelpoori, SW16 4AD, an Indian restaurant in Norbury.

Two new pages are: Peri Pizza, a (mainly) pizza delivery outlet in Croydon; and Tierra Peru, a Peruvian restaurant on Essex Road in Islington.

There's been an update to Spiceland, a Sri Lankan/South Indian restaurant in Croydon.

Finally, the sad news is the closure of The Bun House, a pleasant locals' pub in Peckham.
