What ho, RGL collective! Short and sweet this week :)

This week's new featured article is Viet Hoa, one of the many Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch. Here, you can expect an interesting menu of well cooked food for a reasonable price.

The page for Nico, a cafe in South Norwood has been updated.

Blend, Norbury, London SW16

Hiya folks!

This week's featured article is Blend, a microcafe in Norbury. It's hard for me to think about hot drinks right now, but if I'm ever around that way, I'll be sure to check out their excellent selection of loose leaf teas. They also serve a curated selection of breakfast faves and sangers, and you'll likely be able to charge your phone or other electronic device if need be.

Two new articles have been added - Obia in Croydon's restaurant quarter serves an interesting falafel burger, though it appears the curse of the structurally unsound veg burger knows no bounds. If that seems a bit outré, you can always stick with their traditional Italian classics.

Still in Croydon, Kalpa serves Sri Lankan and Keralan food. Our reviewers were satisfied by the overall quality, though slightly underwhelmed by the mutonniness off the mutton rolls.

Updates have been made to Viet Grill in Shoreditch. Perhaps try the Saigon Feed set lunch, where you can choose from a limited selection of starters and mains, one of which is called "grilled piggy aubergine" and which our reviewer found quite nice.

Hello RGL fans! The update is a bit late this week, but then it will need to get you through next week too, thanks to the joys of Croydon Fun Weekend! If you don't know Croydon Fun Weekend, then why not go to Croydon and have fun?

Le Delice, Ladywell, London SE13

So last time I did an update, the featured article was Deli Felice. Well this week, it's a cafe called Le Felice, SE13 7UZ in leafy Ladywell. Expect French food, bare boards, wooden chairs, and a pleasant environment to do some work. Also, it's in a former pub building.

Our one new addition is Brown and Green, a cafe at Crystal Palace station. You may need extra cranberry.

There's a significant update to the entry for The Liberty Bounds, a Wetherspoons at Tower Hill which has true pies.

Finally, The Beagle by Hoxton station has closed! Or it may have closed! We're not exactly certain.

Handpumps at the Bree Louise, Euston

This week is that week when the Good Beer Guide is released, so we can add all the new Good Beer Guide 2014 pubs, which Kake and bob have been diligently adding, helped by a few others. I shan't try to sum up the views of our sterling reviewers (you should read the entries to find out their favourites), so here is a list of those with new entries in RGL as a result:

In the centre:
* The Chamberlain (Aldgate EC3);
* The Exmouth Arms (Clerkenwell EC1);
* The Hung, Drawn and Quartered (Tower Hill EC3);
* The Sun (Covent Garden WC2); and
* The White Swan (Covent Garden WC2).

In the North:
* The Bohemia (North Finchley N12) [PS already closed! BOO!];
* The Bull (Highgate N6);
* The Charlotte Despard (Archway N19); and
* The Stag and Hounds (Lower Edmonton N9).

In the East:
* The Bell (Walthamstow E17)
* The Duke's Head (Walthamstow E17); and
* The Sebright Arms (Haggerston E2).

In the South-East:
* The Royal Standard (Blackheath SE3);
* The Ship (Borough SE1); and
* The Star Inn (Plumstead SE18).

In the South-West:
* The King's Head (Earl's Court SW5); and
* Powder Keg Diplomacy (Battersea SW11).

In outer London postcodes:
* The Barking Dog (Barking IG11);
* The Europa (East Molesey KT8);
* The Feathers (Rickmansworth WD3);
* The George Staples (Sidcup DA15);
* The Jolly Coopers (Hampton TW12);
* The London Apprentice (Isleworth TW7);
* The Moon on the Hill (Sutton SM1)
* The Tailor's Chalk (Sidcup DA14);
* The Three Tuns (Uxbridge UB8);
* The Windermere (North Wembley HA9); and
* The Woodman (Farnborough BR6).

There's also a stub article for The Viaduct in Hanwell, so if anyone would like to visit and let us know how it is, why not do that? We'll get along eventually, I'm sure.

One other pub addition, not in the GBG, is The Change of Horses in Farnborough, which is upmarket traditional. If you're going to go all the way to Farnborough you might as well try a couple of pubs, eh?

Reported closures, are, er, the Bohemia (see above). It was a nice pub, I hope it will be back... :(

There are significant updates to the entries for The Red Lion in Isleworth, The Portrait in Sidcup, and Ye Olde Whyte Lyon in Farnborough.

There is a temporary closure for The Pilot Inn, a wonderful and lonely pub in North Greenwich. Meanwhile, The Gate vegetarian restaurant in Hammersmith has reopened.

Whistle and Flute, Putney, London SW15

This week's featured article is The Whistle and Flute, SW15 1SQ, a Fuller's pub somewhere in between scruffy and gastro. It has the usual range of Fuller's beers and ales, so it'll do you fine if you're in Putney for a drink.

Lots of new articles this week, as certain maintainers of our community have been getting out and about in London. We have Amasi, a Middle Eastern cafe on an industrial estate in Perivale, so er yes, if you find yourself on an industrial estate in furthest West London, now you know where to go. We also have Shree Krishna Vada Pav, an Indian cafe in Harrow.

There's new entries for drinking establishments too: Ward's Freehouse, a pub in Harrow lacking any real ale; The Hussar at the edge of Hounslow, ditto; The Earl Haig, also in Hounslow, also no real ale; and The Beagle, a cocktail bar/restaurant in trendy East London's Haggerston/Shoreditch boundaries.

There are significant updates for The Old White Bear in Hampstead, and Au Lac, a Vietnamese restaurant in Highbury.

Two reported closures are The White Swan, one of Golders Green's few remaining pubs, and, sadly, an excellent East Dulwich wine shop/bar, Green and Blue.

28°-50° Wine Workshop and Kitchen, Marylebone, W1

This week's featured article is 28°-50° Wine Workshop and Kitchen, W1U 2NE in Marylebone. For those wondering, apparently most vineyards are located between 28 and 50 degrees latitude. They don't even say on their website, so maybe it's just really obvious?

The one addition is Longdan Express, a Vietnamese and pan-Asian supermarket near Hoxton station on Shoreditch/Haggerston borders.

There's an update to Hackney Picturehouse cinema entry, by me, the gist of which is that it's a really nice cinema (comfy seats, big screens) and the cafe/bar is excellent too.

Reported permanent closures are: Chicago Rib Shack in Knightsbridge; and The King's Arms near Victoria station, which has closed and is set to be demolished along with all the other pubs in that area (The Stage Door, The Duke of York, The Stag) to make way for a new DEVELOPMENT called Victoria Circle. Yay.
