Hello and welcome back again, once again belatedly (on my part)!

Arroz caldo (Filipino congee) at Sunrise, Romford, London RM1

This week's featured article is Sunrise Jacket Potato and Oriental Food, RM1 3AB, a Filipino cafe in a Romford shopping mall. It's casual and utilitarian but clean, and the food is good, though Kake advises to avoid the chicken dishes.

After the Good Beer Guide pub blowout of the last few weeks, there are only two new articles: Jishal Goan in Wembley (again pretty basic, but with more underwhelming food), and Everyman Crystal Palace, a new outpost of the upmarket cinema chain.

There are significant updates to The Case Is Altered pub in Harrow Weald which has a large beer garden, and The Crown and Sceptre in West Kensington, a small many-pillared space.

One reported permanent closure is Cafe Adagio in Addiscombe, and a possible closure is The Station House in Chingford, but no one is sure if it's temporary or permanent.

Santok Maa's, Thornton Heath, London CR7

Good evening ya'll!

This week's featured article is Santok Maa's, a totally vegetarian and vegan-friendly Indian restaurant in Thornton Heath. It serves a good selection of savoury food as well as sweets, and has been visited frequently by Kake. I'd like to sample the house speciality of Nairobi bhajia (battered potato slices) which is allegedly too large a portion for one, which feels like a challenge!

We've got a heap of new pub pages:

But wait! There's more! Updates have been made to even more pub pages:

In non-pub news, updates have been made to Sunrise Jacket Potato and Oriental Food, a Filipino cafe in Romford, beating Fish in a Tie for this week's best business name, which truly is saying something.

Reported closures this week are Bull and Last on the edge of Hampstead Heath, although it's only temporary. Permanent closures have been reported for central Croydon's Roti Masters as part of the redevelopment of St George's Walk, and Beer Rebellion in Crystal Palace.

Bull & Last, Gospel Oak, London NW5
Evening RGL readers!

This week's featured article is for The Bull & Last, a popular gastropub on the Gospel Oak corner of Hampstead Heath. There's plenty of real ale and decent grub (handy for refuelling after a jaunt around Parliament Hill), and they'll even spare a marrow bone for your dog.

We have a new page for Vegan Yes, an assertively-named Italian-Korean cafe on Brick Lane that will do you a vegan kimchi lasagne without batting an eyelid. The other new glorious food combination this week is Romford Shopping Hall's #1 Filipino/jacket potato destination, Sunrise Jacket Potato and Oriental Food (baked beans and congee - together at last). Up in Cockfosters, there's a new entry for Turkish restaurant Skewd, where the seasonal vegetables seem to be on a slightly different calendar to the rest of us. Also in Cockfosters, there's an update for The Cock Inn following a visit.

There are also updates for Lutong Pinoy, a Filipino restaurant in Earl's Court, and Mohsen, an Iranian restaurant in Kensington. Which one has the better rice? You'll have to click through to find out. Finally, The George pub in Enfield Town has turned into an O'Neills.

Cirilo, Whitechapel, London E1

Morning all!

This week's featured article is for Cirilo, E1 8JG, a small Filipino restaurant in Whitechapel (on the western end of Cable Street). You might just be able to see the DLR go past through the window, as you eat your massive plate of pancit guisado.

We've got new articles for Marylebone's uber-trendy Chiltern Firehouse (great food and cocktails, but massively overpriced), and for the refurbished Betsey Trotwood in Clerkenwell, which despite its new-ish coat of paint remains a cracking little pub and club/gig venue -- unless you have a phobia of Alvin Stardust.

Finally we have one closure to report: the Crown and Goose in Camden.

Have you been to any new pubs, cafes or restaurants this Spring? Let us know about them in the comments and we'll go and check them out.

Garden Community Cafe, Custom House, London E16

Evening all!

This week's featured article is for the Garden Community Cafe near the Excel Centre in Docklands. It's a small, cheerful place with cheap food and plenty of community spirit.

We have new articles for two eateries: Maida, a Somali cafe in Streatham, and Cirilo, which serves Filipino food in Whitechapel. If you want to find out which one does halo-halo and which one gives you free refills of rice, you'll have to click through and read them!

Royal Delight on Tower Bridge Road has temporarily shut, but is still doing takeaway, but Twins Cafe and the Lin Ji Supermarket in Peckham have closed for good, as has the King's Arms in Twickenham. And the Horseshoe Inn in London Bridge no longer does Mongolian Food! I dunno, they'll be getting rid of the dartboard next...

Finally, an advanced warning for Zone 6 dwellers/visitors: the tube will be closed for three weeks over the summer between Uxbridge and Ruislip (Metropolitan line) and Uxbridge and Rayners Lane (Piccadilly line), as they're replacing the track (more info here). So if you've booked a holiday to Hillingdon in late July you'd better get the Central line there instead!
