Hello again! Short update this week.

Untitled

This week's featured article is a nicely refurbished and rather nice pub out WEST called The Finborough Arms, SW10 9ED. It's out near West Brompton, but worth a visit if you're in the area. Pubgoers may recognise the landlord from his other pub, The Gunmakers Arms in Clerkenwell/Holborn.

Only one other change is a new article for Spence Bakery in North-East London's Stoke Newington, recommended for specialty bread, chaotic queuing and oversized coffee cups.

Morning all, apologies for a slightly belated blog post this week.

Our featured article is for the Bonnington Cafe in Vauxhall, which serves vegetarian and vegan food at very reasonable prices - try the Cajun-blackened tofu.

There's a new article for the Finborough Arms in West Brompton. It's run by the same dude as the Gunmakers in Clerkenwell so expect a good selection of ales and ciders, and pizzas supplied by the Firezza next door. The upstairs is a lot bigger than the Gunmakers though, they've even managed to fit a whole theatre in it.

Finally, the article for the Queen's Head in Mitcham has been updated after a recent visit, which revealed the presence of a Metallica pinball table! I would go into more detail about the roast dinners or the real ale but frankly Nothing Else Matters (sorry).

Spotted a Megadeth fruit machine in your local? Let us know in the comments and I shall selflessly venture forth and test it out...

Atlas, Earl's Court, SW6

This week's featured article is a ivy-covered pub in West Brompton, The Atlas, SW6 1RX. It's many years since it's been in the Good Beer Guide, but it's decent.

Two new additions are Crate, a brewpub and pizzeria in a sort of West Coast US style, out in a former industrial unit of Hackney Wick; and Court Cafe, a greasy spoon by Elephant & Castle.

We've now marked Lemon Monkey in Stoke Newington as closed, because it was replaced by the Monkey Bar some time ago. It still serves cake and coffee for the daytime crowd, so it's apparently not completely different.

Also, an online commenter points out that The Castle pub in Battersea is actually still open, despite closure earlier this year due to being sold to developers. It's still under threat though, so good luck to them!

Sorry for the lateness, an extended holiday weekend means that we're a bit late getting this out.

Crown and Anchor, Brixton, SW9

This week's featured article is The Crown and Anchor, another "craft beer" pub, this one from the people behind Stoke Newington's Jolly Butchers, but situated between Brixton and Oval. There are plenty of beers both keg and cask, and it seems promising.

New articles are on: The Atlas, a gastropub near West Brompton station; The Holborn Whippet, another craft beer bar from the Euston Tap people; and Patterson's, a fine dining restaurant in Mayfair.

Reported closures are: Sagar, a South Indian vegetarian restaurant in Twickenham; and Chennai, a South Indian cafe in Barking.

One impending closure is Langton's Bookshop in Twickenham, due to close at the end of June.
