This week's featured article is Dean Swift, SE1 2LX, a good real ale pub near Tower Bridge.

Recent additions to RGL include New Cavendish, a sandwich shop and greasy spoon in Fitzrovia; Marlborough Head, a pub in Mayfair; and Home, a Chinese cafe in Lewisham.

No reported closures! Hurrah! One reported closure: Presto Cafe on Tower Bridge Road.

There's a new opening in Leytonstone - the Red Lion (on facebook and twitter as red_lion_e11) - it's a bit rough around the edges and only opening at 4pm on weekdays and midday at weekends so far, and food and the accessible entrance are both promised in a couple of weeks. Should I create an entry (I'm going to snap it this week) or should I wait until it's more established? For now, it has 5+ real ales and a selection of bottled ciders - it had been weeks since I'd been in a pub and now I've been twice in a week with plans to go again this week... it's just what we need!

Yes, I am excited about the Red Lion too! (Shall we go there together once I've finished moving house?)

If you want to write it up now, then please do go ahead; or if you want to wait until they've started doing food and have fixed the entrance, that's fine too. I wrote up one of their other new openings last week.

I'll snap it sometime this week and write it up when done, I'll make more of a note of their ales etc. and then can amend when they have fixed the food / entrance, and I hear the loos are a bit rough and ready too!
