Ivy Leaf, Dartford
Evening RGL crew!

This week's featured article is for the Ivy Leaf in distant Dartford. It's a Good Beer Guide pub so there's plenty to drink, as well as that holy grail of pub menus: a decent fishfinger sandwich. Remember how much Sean Connery wanted the holy grail in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade? That is roughly how much I want a decent fishfinger sandwich on an average day.

Some new additions have arrived as well! Soul Flame is a good quality Turkish restaurant in Putney; the Rendezvous Cafe in Beckenham serves their tea on the strong side (unless you make a point of telling them otherwise), while down in Purley, Cafe Blue and Mekan offer cooked breakfasts and Turkish food respectively.

Finally, the InSpiral Lounge veggie cafe in Camden has morphed into a completely different veggie cafe - i.e. they are still extremely unlikely to offer me a fishfinger sandwich.

Cat's Back, Wandsworth, London SW18

Evening all!

This week's featured article is for the Cat's Back in Wandsworth, a small Harvey's pub with lots of lovely beer and tasty snacks. It's the second closest to the North Pole of all the Harvey's pubs, after the Royal Oak in Borough.

Our intrepid RGL team have paid a visit to Dartford and there's a whole bunch of new pub articles as a result: the Paper Moon (a typical Wetherspoons), the Wat Tyler (traditional old pub with a Tudor-style exterior), the Ivy Leaf (a large Good Beer Guide pub), the Foresters (a back street local's pub with a few decent ales) and the Malt Shovel (a Young's pub and CAMRA hangout).

Our non-Dartford additions include BG Zakuska Bulgarian Breakfast in Barking, a small cafe which will zap you some pastries in the microwave, and Great Queen Street, a great little bistro restaurant in Covent Garden run by the dudes behind the Anchor & Hope (but crucially you can book tables).

Rounding off a busy week, the Wych Elm in Kingston has had an update following a visit (the soup sounds good!) and the Ruse bar in Borough has closed.

Plum Tree Cafe, Greenwich, London SE10

Hello all! Apologies for the slight delay this week - leaves on the line, and such*.

Our featured article is for the PlumTree Cafe in Greenwich, a child-friendly spot with plenty of veggie options and most importantly, an all-day breakfast menu.

A bunch of new pages have sprung up this week! Fresh Fields Market in Croydon has a good beer selection as well as fruit and veg; the Duke's Head in Highgate is a very pleasant pub with lots of nice beer and gin cocktails, and the Wild Card Brewery Tap Bar in Walthamstow is also pretty great for beer fans, though it's a bit out of the way. I've been to the latter two establishments and I would firmly recommend both! My verdict is a bit less certain regarding the Waterloo Bar and Kitchen though - reasonable bistro food but quite pricey. Better value in Waterloo is Po Cha, a Korean restaurant recently moved from near the Centrepoint building, and the Waterloo branch of Wahaca.

There are three pub updates following visits: the Express Tavern in Brentford, the Wellington by Waterloo station, and the Albion in East Molesey. The Express looks like the pick of the bunch to me.

Elsewhere, Da Vinci's bar in Waterloo has closed, as has the Fountain Restaurant inside Fortnum & Mason's.

Finally we can give a big RGL welcome to Dartford Station, which has joined TfL Zone 8 and thus has become 12.5% more excellent!

*Okay, fine. I was buying woodland-animal-shaped biscuit cutters in Ikea.
