New Featured Article - Old Coffee House, W1F 9SF

The sun is out this afternoon in London, and it's time for another featured article!

This week it's the turn of the Old Coffee House in Soho, a pub serving beers from the Brodie's East London brewery. It can get very busy in the evenings but the beer is good and the food is reasonably priced, so it's worth visiting for a lunchtime pint.

We also have a new article for Becks Cafe in Holborn, which will do you a high quality greasy spoon breakfast as well as burgers, salads and omelettes. I like the look of their red and white checked tablecloths!

Have you been out somewhere recently? You can help keep RGL up to date by making a note of how much your cup of tea, venison burger or gigantic Bloody Mary cost, and updating one of our existing pages! Beer and wine prices in particular are often changing, and even some of our favourite pubs haven't had a pint price update since 2009...

Something I've noticed every time you update, but didn't like to mention in case it was me / temporary / whatever...

I read the LJ syndicated account but I realise you update via dreamwidth.

In the LJ post it always says

"Posted by: </a></b></a>katstevens"

So something is going astray with your HTML / code there!

Just mentioning in case you care / can easily resolve it :-)

Yes, I've noticed that too, but I'm afraid I don't know if the bug is with Dreamwidth's RSS generation or LiveJournal's RSS consumption. The usernames are wrong too, where they're not the same on both sides (ewan is not the same person as ewan, for example).

Re comments: LiveJournal doesn't pass comments back to the original source of the RSS feed, and I don't think it's possible to subscribe to comments on a syndicated account, and LiveJournal only keeps RSS-sourced data for two weeks — so it's almost always best to comment on the original post! (This goes for all syndicated accounts, not just ones syndicated from Dreamwidth.)

I think it's an LJ problem. Looking at the DW-generated RSS and what shows up on the LJ source, it looks like the part of the code that in DW decides which icon to show (DW or LJ username) is confusing whatever does the Livejournal rendering. Probably because, as you say, the usernames are not the same but the LJ rendering assumes they are! Oh dear...
